The freshman Robotic Competition is a long-standing tradition in the mechatronics engineering program. First year students compete with robots they have designed, built, and tested. Following a robot design - from inception to completion - in a one-semester project is a notable achievement; taking into account, most of the competing students have no prior experience with such technology. Competitions include both remote control and autonomous elements and additional points are allocated when the robot operates without human direction.

Great excitement surrounds this event with teams vying for bragging rights far more than grades. Join SPCEET for an action-packed afternoon where engineering students’ inner geek is celebrated and shines through their robots competing on the field!

K-12 groups are encouraged to attend and participate.
