Research

The research component of the Center for Nuclear Studies involves the Nuclear Energy, Science, and Engineering Laboratory (NESEL), which is a multi-disciplinary research organization with emphasis in nuclear plant systems, nuclear sensors and controls, risk models, hazards in nuclear applications, new nuclear fuel development, advanced and small modular reactor modeling, fuel cycle, radiation detector development, robotics for radiation mapping, radiological assessment, and health physics. NESEL involves various aspects from several fields of engineering including, Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Systems and Industrial Engineering.
