Facilities Design & Plant Layout Labs

The Facilities Design, Plant Layout and Material Handling Labs are a part of the lecture classes. There are a number of techniques and software packages used to not only layout a floor plan with machines and offices, but to also calculate throughput and efficiencies of the operational system prior to physically moving one item. Many types of industries are always either relocating, redesigning, or enhancing their existing facilities, so IETs are well equipped upon graduation to tackle these issues. These software packages are also available through VirtualOwl VMware virtual desktop client technology for online students.
