Overview
Our undergraduate graduate programs integrate basic theory with a real-world perspective. Faculty are required to have substantial non-academic professional experience and professional licensure as the standard.
The programs are committed to providing a curriculum that satisfies the technical demands of a modern engineer, augmented by well-defined liberal art courses to help our students develop as well-rounded professionals. The civil and environmental engineering programs are designed to develop engineers with a strong background in mathematics and science, and an understanding of the nature of their special role in society.
In addition to your classroom studies, labs provide opportunities for hands-on experience. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities and gain valuable work experience while building your connections with industry and professional organizations.
Mission
The mission of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is to educate the next generation of engineers and surveyors to develop leaders that will advance the state of the profession. We strive for constructive student-faculty interactions through an inclusive educational setting. We prepare traditional and nontraditional students to succeed in professional practice and to pursue advance studies.
